Ford is seeking to hire a person for an entry level embedded software position on the Body Control Software team. The Body Control Software team develops software for vehicle features such as starting, locking, lighting, alarms, windows, powered enclosures, and seats. The candidate will be responsible for the software in a body module. This means that they would have a knowledge of the functional specification, support design review, help resolve vehicle/bread board issues. Engineering work experience and an understanding of embedded hardware and software design is preferred.

What you will be able to do
Ford is seeking to hire a person for an entry level embedded software position on the Body Control Software team.The Body Control Software team develops software for vehicle features such as starting, locking, lighting, alarms, windows, powered enclosures and seats.The candidate will be responsible for the software in a body module.This means that they would have a knowledge of the functional specification, support design review and help resolve vehicle/bread board issues. You will:

  • Translate product requirements into control system specifications
  • Resolve issues and/or ambiguities found in specifications during the vehicle development cycle
  • Work with the supplier software team explaining software requirements
  • Design state diagrams in Visio and develop Matlab Simulink models
  • Work in Polarion to develop software implementation requirements
  • Develop AutoSAR software components and generate ARXML with Davinci
  • Conduct software design review with Suppliers
  • Support vehicle launch
  • Generate functional specifications
The minimum requirements we seek
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study
  • 6+ months of experience in Algorithm Design for Embedded hardware and/or software design (coursework/internship/co-op experience allowed)
  • 6+ months of experience with control theory and algorithm design via truth tables and finite state machines (coursework/internship/co-op experience allowed)
Our preferred requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study
  • 3+ years of Engineering experience
  • 1+ years of Experience in Algorithm Design for Embedded hardware and/or software design
  • 1+ years of Experience with control theory and algorithm design via truth tables and finite state machines
  • 1+ years of vehicle network (CAN/LIN) experience
  • 1+ years of experience in Matlab/Simulink
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter VSEM, JIRA, Polarion and Github
  • Familiarity with CANalyzer, AutoSAR, Service Orientated Architecture and Functional Safety
  • Experience in working with and/or for an Electronic Control Manufacturer
