In the Ford Driver Assistance Technologies (DAT) program, Ford's Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware, functional models, and software that provide Best in Class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems.

What you'll be able to do:
We are seeking a diligent, detail-driven professional to provide vital expertise in support of our Driver Assist Technologies Embedded Software development activities. This involves applying engineering principles and analytical techniques in Model Based Software and Diagnostic in support of DAT Software development.

You will:

  • Lead a team of Model Based Software and Auto code engineers to develop models and autogenerate code for production SW
  • Ensure models developed adhere to model-based design processes and fulfill ASPICE traceability requirements
  • Work with DAT Dev Ops and Automation teams to ensure models build in the CI/CD pipeline
  • Work with DAT Software Architects to develop AUTOSAR software components in support of production software release trains
  • Ensure models developed by DAT Feature Owners and Systems team properly build, validate, and generate auto code
  • Lead a team of Diagnostic Software Engineers to develop diagnostics for Ford's next generation DAT systems
  • Work with DAT System and HW teams to implement diagnostic requirements for DAT system
  • Work with Tier 1 suppliers to ensure the DAT software adheres to the Global Diagnostic Specification and Software Download Specification
The minimum requirements we seek:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years experience developing embedded software using MATLAB Simulink
  • 3+ years experience with classic AUTOSAR
  • 1+ years experience developing automotive diagnostics
Our preferred requirements:
  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience with DAT developing embedded software in MATLAB Simulink
  • 5+ years of experience with classic AUTOSAR
  • 3+ years of experience developing automotive diagnostics
  • Experience with DAT Test/DVM methods via HIL, MIL, SIL and unit test
  • Familiar with software version control tool (i.e. Git, SVN)
  • Familiar with modeling guideline check tool (i.e. MAXAM, Model Advisor)
  • Familiar with software calibration standards and tools (i.e. vCDM)
  • Familiar with software integration test tools (i.e. CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape)
  • Familiar with diagnostics standards and tools (i.e. UDS/DoIP)
  • Familiar with diagnostics standards and tools (i.e. UDS/DoIP)
  • Familiar with software debug/calibration standards (i.e. JTAG/XCP)
  • Familiar with software version control tools (i.e. Git, SVN)
  • Familiar with static code analysis tools and standards (i.e. Polyspace/Coverity, MISRA - C/CERT)
  • Familiar with automotive communication standards (i.e. CAN/CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, MQTT, SOMEIP)
  • Experience leading a global team
  • Knowledge of Ford engineering processes
