External Description: The Vehicle Software platform is one of the foundations upon which Ford transitions from a manufacturer of vehicles to a producer of vehicles for the delivery of digital experiences and brand enhancing services.

The Cloud Platform Software Architecture Manger will drive the evolution of Ford's connected platform software strategy to collect most optimally, storage, and leverage connected vehicle data to enable continuous learning and improvement of the in and out of vehicle experience.
This position reports directly to the Software Portfolio Director of Tech Strategy & Planning. This position is the recognized point of contact for all cloud platform software related technology strategy and planning work related to the current and future software architectures, and for all current and future programs. This work falls generally under the category of what is commonly called "Fully Networked Vehicle" or "FNV". This role is responsible for supporting the vision and strategy for foundational and platform software development, migration, maintenance, and upgrades including the technical unit papers for future iterations.
What you will be able to Do The position will work with cross functional teams to ensure the viability, security and integrity of current and future cloud platform elements. Collating inputs from technical and market demand matter experts and providing their own subject matter expertise to drive technology strategies which span scalable architecture, data collection and analysis, AI/ML and prognostics algorithm development and deployment (examples, not all inclusive).
The minimum requirements we seek :

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years' experience in cloud platform software strategy and product management
• 3+ years of experience in Cloud solutions (IaaS/ PaaS) Strategy and Implementation for mid or large size organizations (this includes private/public Clouds - on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or VMWare)

Our Preferred Requirements

• Master's Degree in Engineering
• Experience product managing software from conception to launch, with the product delivering end-user experiences
• Experience in software lifecycle product management of commercial, when building a software factory / Devops mentality and software integration
• Software strategy experience within the high-performance in-vehicle compute, with familiarity of the embedded operating environment including but not limited to AUTOSAR adaptive, Linux, Real Time Operating Systems, in-vehicle/cloud virtualization.
• Experience with large and complex IT systems in an enterprise environment using virtualization or private Cloud technologies, including VMware, Xen, OpenStack, and Hyper-V
• Public Cloud Certification(s) (AWS, MS Azure, GCP)
• Experience in recommending application cloud migration dispositions (rehost, re-platform, refactor, replace, retire) based on technical and business requirements
• Ability and experience in one or more of the following areas: quantifying the business value of cloud, evaluating the organizational impact of cloud adoption, defining cloud architectural principles and articulating key security considerations for public cloud moves
• Relevant experience in defining selection criteria for cloud providers and identifying suitable workloads for public cloud
