As Ford continues to build a world-class Marketing organization, we are seeking a Principal Product Manager to drive the broader application strategy across the core brand website with a focus on customer needs across the discover and early shopping stages of their journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in web platforms, agile development methodologies, is a subject matter expert in User Experience best-practices and possesses solid leadership skills to lead internal teams in developing strategies and defining quick to market execution opportunities.

This role focuses on delivering business value to drive customer consideration and sales, improve efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction through the production of quality products. The Principal Product Manager will work closely with teams of developers, designers, and business partners. They support in-depth business reviews, communicate and present across all levels of the organization and support cross-functional product teams. The Principal Product Manager must be able to work at the strategic level (generating innovative ideas for growth, change management) and at the tactical level (analyzing data, solving problems, being a force multiplier and leader of their teams).

What you'll be able to do:

50% - Strategy & Planning:

  • Empathize with and understand the end user deeply and use that knowledge to determine the fastest path to deliver value
  • Translate business goals and end user needs into product strategy that balances those needs; communicates direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners
  • Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually makes recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings
  • Challenges the status quo of industry to bring new and innovative ideas to market and challenge the notion of "it can't be done"
  • Understand the intricate behaviors of customers on their platform and how it relates to success of other products; builds stories using data with empirical evidence for product decisions
30% - Delivery & Execution:
  • Formulate, test and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing
  • Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met
  • Creates, prioritizes and accepts user stories; incorporate them into release planning
  • Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demo, and retrospectives
  • Condense complex technical concepts into non-technical language for customers
20% - People:
  • Foster collaboration with team members (Engineering, UX, etc.) to drive value and identify and resolve impediments
  • Advocate for the end user a by becoming associated with the product, empathizing with and understanding user needs
  • Work with the product team to continuously assess progress, disseminate lessons learned, and understand next steps
  • Guide more junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis and execution tasks

The minimum requirements we seek:
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience working as a Digital Experience lead with Product Management expertise in a development-based enterprise environment creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories, conducting user research and testing to understand needs, identifying goals, metrics and analytics to measure product value and similar responsibilities.
  • 5+ years of experience guiding junior team members through Product Management fundamentals
  • 5+ years of experience mining and synthesizing web analytics data (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics and similar)
