Ford ION Park Quality team is seeking an experienced candidate for a Battery Cell Materials Supply Chain Specialist position within our STA and Quality team. The team is composed of Technical Experts, Managers and Quality Engineers who lead different areas of battery quality and manufacturing. Position Duties: The Battery Cell Materials Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the following:

  • Oversee and coordinate the development of projects with battery material suppliers to ensure the technical and quality progress and overall risk is aligned with the sourcing objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise to the commercial, Business Development, Strategy, and other stakeholder teams regarding sourcing of Cell Materials (Cathode, Anode, Separator, Electrolyte and others)
  • Engage in battery materials selection and evaluation of materials sources and perform due diligence and supplier technical/quality audit.
  • Provide technical and quality engineering guidance and support to partners/suppliers to develop the supply base and manufacturing of battery materials. Engage in manufacturing processes/technology evaluations and quality qualification of battery materials.
  • Develop value chain models for battery materials, including localization supply strategies. Construct and analyze detailed cost models for materials value chain.
  • Review and evaluate evolving next generation technologies in materials and processing development.
  • Build relationships among internal and external organizations for effective cross-functional operation.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering, or combination of education and related experience.
  • 5+ years of analysis experience in supply chain, manufacturing or quality, or related experience (Engineering, R&D, etc.).
  • 3+ years of Lithium-Ion Battery materials or related processes
Preferred Requirements:
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering, or combination of education and related experience.
  • 7+ years of analysis experience in supply chain, manufacturing or quality, or related experience (Engineering, R&D, etc.).
  • 5+ years of Lithium-Ion Battery materials or related processes
  • Strong analytical background with demonstrated ability to analyze and communicate technical concepts to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to multi-task with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel.
