What you'll be able to do:

  • Collaborate with battery HIL software and hardware engineers, BECM software validation engineers, and suppliers
  • Build next-generation HIL battery simulators with engineering guidance, including assembly of hardware such as circuit cards, cabinets, mounting racks, power supplies, etc., as well as building and pinning-out associated wiring harnesses
  • Validate and troubleshoot HIL battery simulators, which may require electrical component swaps, use of measurement devices such as oscilloscopes, modification of circuit cards by adding/removing components via soldering, and assisting with issue root-cause analyses down to the component level
  • Provide support to the BECM software testing team to ensure the HIL battery simulators meet their testing requirements
  • Track work assignments through GitHub
The minimum requirements we seek:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 2+ years of experience with assembly and wiring of custom electrical test fixtures like standard home electrical systems, as well as more sophisticated electrical harnesses for interfacing vehicle electronic control modules to test equipment
  • 2+ years of knowledge of electrical wiring practices according to national standards
  • 2+ years of experience with hand tools, measurement devices, and practices for building and verifying automotive electronic harnesses
  • 2+ years of reading wiring and assembly schematic diagrams
  • 2+ years of experience building wiring jumper harnesses to support instrumentation or provide representative vehicle functionality
Our preferred requirements:
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with high voltage power sources, including the ability to build an enclosure around a high voltage package using connectors etc.
  • 2+ years of experience using oscilloscopes, meters, and other test equipment required to run special tests
  • 1+ year of experience supporting parts purchasing requests
  • A strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation with the ability to work on a diverse team that includes both on-site and off-site team members
