What you will be able to do

  • Lead the development and integration of Functional Safety work products on future vehicle program applications for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features.
  • Develop ADAS System level functional safety requirements.
  • Develop fault tree analysis
  • Develop functional safety test methods and plans.
  • Support ADAS ECU prototype testing of functional safety features/functions/safety mechanisms.
  • Support the development of Interface specifications, FMEAs, robustness disciplines and DVP
  • Understand the performance requirements for the sensing system relative to the feature model to ensure operate correct sensor performance envelop for the specific vehicle application as it relates to functional safety requirements.
  • Support identification of vehicle application specific potential hazards and Safety Goals with associated Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) ratings for ADAS features.
  • Ensure Successful application of the functional safety process for ADAS features on forward model vehicle programs.
  • Understand FuSa sensor-system interactions in terms of vehicle dynamics to identify possible improvements and trade-offs
  • Identify changes needed to improve performance and meet objectives
  • Establish System level objectives and ensure system operation to meet the objectives through structured component, sub-system and system level test methodologies
  • Closely coordinate with feature development engineers to support execution of functional safety design verification plans to ensure proper feature-level performance
  • Support Sign-off of Feature Level performance per a given vehicle with respect to functional safety.
The minimum requirements we seek
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • 6+ months of experience with embedded hardware and/or software design (coursework/internship/co-op experience allowed)
Our preferred requirements
  • Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience reviewing, categorizing, and analyzing field data to determine error states/failure modes
  • Software engineering and algorithm development experience
    Development time with languages (e.g. C, C++, Python, Matlab, etc.)
  • Developing and conducting laboratory and vehicle tests, gathering and analyzing data
