The Advance Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) program uses technology to solve the human problems of driving and make it safer, easier, and more enjoyable. Our Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware, functional models, and software for best-in-class performance on features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems. The ADAS Development Tools and Calibration team supports all software development activities by providing the necessary tools to generate, test and calibrate ADAS features. The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Experience Development team is at the heart of this mission - driving human centered innovation to create a world where our customers look forward to the road trip, park in the smallest space with ease, and move their trailer with confidence.
We are the total life-cycle advocate for the customer - our work informs hardware and software development to deliver best in class behavior for features like BlueCruise, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Active Park Assist, Pro Trailer Backup and Hitch Assist.

What you'll be able to do:

  • Design, develop and test ADAS experiences that help our customers drive, park, avoid collisions, and tow/hitch
  • Unify independent assistance and automation features into holistic experiences that are easy for our customers to discover, use and trust
  • Co-create with our digital experience partners to ensure seamless integration of the physical and digital domains
  • Gather competitive intelligence and conduct benchmarking
  • Develop journey storyboards and animations
  • Define customer use cases with partners across different group and departments
  • Develop low fidelity prototypes for early concept selection
  • Develop simulator and vehicle prototypes for iterative testing and refinement of concepts
  • Conduct customer research through clinics, workshops, interviews, and surveys
  • Lead customer research preparation (task lists, discussion guides, screeners) to ensure prototypes and all other materials are ready for testing, interview respondents as necessary
  • Conduct conceptual, iterative, and sign-off usability testing and experience sign-off demonstrations with senior leaders
  • Define and cascade customer experience requirements to inform feature model and control system algorithm development
  • Utilize connected vehicle data to re-create customer use cases in simulation and leverage real-world scenarios for concept refinement
  • Define new connected vehicle data needs to better understand customer usage and interaction with ADAS features
  • Leverage connected vehicle data and multi-channel customer feedback to develop and prioritize continuous experience improvement plans for product launch or over-the-air deployment
The minimum requirements we seek:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Human Factors Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 3+ years engineering work experience in ADAS or equivalent customer facing attribute
  • 2+ years of experience in user testing and user experience workflow

Our preferred requirements:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineer, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Human Factors Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • Strong sense of customer empathy, problem identification and resolution
  • Experience in, or knowledge of, Agile process
  • Passion for User Experience and Customer-Centered Design!
  • Ability to translate abstract concepts into actionable items for implementation
  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills required
  • Ability to present findings and POV effectively with senior management and other organizations
  • Comfortable working on changing demands and early vehicle program work and technologies
  • Ability to create lo-fidelity prototypes with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, 3D Printing, Prototyping Software
  • Experience with CarSim/CarMaker for simulation/simulator use case refinement
  • Experience with CANalyzer to correlate in-vehicle experiences with connected vehicle data
  • Experience with Adobe suite, AXURE or iRise, Sketch, Flinto, card sorting, storyboarding, ethnography, prototyping, usability testing, sketching, wireframe creation, journey mapping in Automotive environments
  • Comfortable working on both electrical and mechanical projects
  • Willingness to learn new tools to continuously improve skillsets
