Ford's ADAS team designs and develops hardware and functional models that provide outstanding behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems.

What you'll be able to do:

We are seeking seasoned professionals who can contribute to our efforts with experience in the development of sensors, ECUs, models and software. This position is passionate about ADAS Features (Pre-Collision, Emergency Braking systems, Camera systems, and Parking Features) engineer to ensure the feature meets the required acceptance criteria through accurate test methods. This could also involve other elements of the process because we are seeking to add high quality people to the team rather than trying to squeeze engineers into a specific role.

You will:

  • Lead the design and development of parking features in the ADAS ECU.
  • Collaborate with the module teams that make up the overall distributed feature to ensure system level function and requirements are met.
  • Support the development of Feature specifications, FMEAs, robustness disciplines and DVP.
  • Support overall feature model integration with other feature models according to the ADAS ECU software schedule.
  • Support model peer reviews of existing, modified, and future feature models.
  • Support sign-off of feature level performance. Root cause feature issues found in development/sign-off. Assist with feature calibration to support overall performance requirements.
  • Develop test methods to evaluate true positive, false positive and real-world performance criteria.
  • Work with the Ford Hardware in the Loop Team to establish CAE procedures to reduce dependencies on vehicle level testing
  • Support continuous quality improvement and cost optimization for ADAS Features
The minimum requirements we seek:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of direct or indirect experience with software or feature development
  • 2+ year of experience testing vehicle, system and/or component specifications in distributed systems
Our preferred requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience is system engineering and authoring of requirements and test procedures
  • Experience using requirements tools (V-cycle management tools, version control, requirements management, traceability creation)
  • Experience in vehicle calibration methods
  • Experience in developing features and functions in Electrical, Chassis, Powertrain or Vehicle Engineering
  • Experience in program vehicle signoff and launch activities
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, CANalyzer, CANape
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
