What you will be able to do Join us and help bring advanced engineering concepts to life. You will be a key member of the team that is designing and developing hardware and functional models that deliver best-in-class behavior for features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, cross traffic alert, active park assist, 360 camera systems and interior camera system. You will be responsible for the creation of new sensor hardware, which may include RGB camera, an interior monitoring camera, an infrared camera or a ultrasonic sensor.

You will:

  • Lead camera development from cradle to grave: launch and lead the development for the next generation Infrared Cameras
  • Work collaboratively with Core Hardware engineers, R&A, Applications, and Feature teams to review, update and improve the Infrared Camera Engineering Specifications (Define: CFA, Resolution, Image Sensor, MTF, SNR, Packaging requirements...etc.)
  • Use Jira to track progress status and root cause analysis for DV and PV failures applying the 8D process review with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers and implement corrective actions on Infrared Camera issues
  • Lead team discussions with Tier 1 suppliers and Ford Application team to resolve quality issues for the Infrared Camera to validate corrective actions and implement changes to improve warranty returns
  • Host daily/weekly meetings with Tier 1 suppliers to manage project milestones and create and maintain a schedule timing to identify any constraints or deviations that could impact program deliverables
  • Lead Infrared Camera technical design reviews with respective hardware Technical Experts for topics such as: Worst Case Circuit Analysis, Environmental Validation Test Plan, and EMC Validation Test
  • Apply engineering best practices to create (D/PFMEA, specifications, D/PVP&R, WCCA) to minimalize design iterations over the development of the component
The minimum requirements we seek:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems, or Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Automotive Component or Subsystem Product Development tools and processes
Our preferred requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems or Computer Science
  • Industrious and proactive
  • Positive, energetic and upbeat
  • Strong leadership, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams and champion issue resolution
  • Understanding of vehicle architecture and communication
  • Ability to use automotive tools (e.g., DET, CANalyzer, CANoe)
