What you will be able to do As a Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) Engineer at Ford Motor Company you will be responsible for leading reviews with module owners and module design teams of the analysis methods and results to ensure compliance to Ford standards. The WCCA engineer shall become familiar with Ford standards and their application to electronic circuit design. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ownership and governance of Electronic Circuit Design verification processes and documents
  • Review and approve suppliers' electronic manufacturing process
  • Provide electrical and electronic engineering consulting services for the design engineers and management relative to analytical methods (e.g. circuit analysis, worst case circuit analysis, electrical stress analysis, I/O modeling, electrical and electronic component subsystems, key life testing, etc.)
  • Ensuring Ford Motor Company maintains a leadership position with the state-of-the-art technologies and system subsystem integration as related to electronics development
  • Ownership and governance of upper body EE hardware (e.g. Displays, Clusters, Blowers, DI, CC, EFP, AHU, etc.) electronic circuit design processes and common implementations standards
  • Ownership and governance of the electronic design process such as Hardware Checklist, WCCA Guide, ELCOMP requirements and generic robustness documents (e.g. Boundary diagram, P-diagram, interface Matrix, RCL, FMEA, DVP, etc.)
  • Direct generic product documentation (e.g. Subsystem Design Specifications (SDS), Engineering Specifications (ES), FMEAs, etc.)
  • Support launch sign-off process and provide consultation
  • Lead efforts in resolving electronic design questions, issues and concerns for Ford's global operations (including Technical Design Review support)
  • Support of the engineering and supplier community through training, seminars and mentoring
  • Develop the technical design review process
  • Provide the Technical voice at module and subsystem Design Reviews
  • Provide electrical and electronic engineering consulting services for the design engineers and management relative to analytical methods (e.g. Circuit Analysis, Electrical Stress Analysis, Input/Output Modeling, CAE, Simulations, Electrical and Electronic Component Subsystems, Life Testing, EMC, etc.)
  • Assess competitive electronic technologies and work with Purchasing and Engineering to develop commodity strategies
The minimum requirements we seek
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study or combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience with electronic circuit design and/or analysis
Our preferred requirements
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study or combination of education and equivalent experience
  • Recognized specialist in electronic design with consistent record of robust implementations
  • 8+ years of demonstrated ability in electronic circuit design, analysis and manufacturing
  • Worst case analysis experience
  • Oversite or review of design and analysis work
  • Recognized specialist with extensive experience in automotive systems requirements and test methods
  • A professional at analyzing and resolving electronic circuit issues
  • In-depth knowledge and proven delivery of vehicle program design process
  • Outstanding supplier relationship skills to mentor and lead suppliers as required
  • Excellent program management, mentoring, written and oral communication skills
