In the Ford Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) team, we develop hardware and software that provide Best in Class features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems. ADAS AI/ML Operations team maintains our growing portfolio of Machine Learning (ML) based algorithms supporting these features, ensuring high accuracy and continuous training after deployment. Our data, models, and delivery pipelines are central to Ford's aspiration to be "Always On" for our customers while continuously improving our customer experience.

Role Overview:
You will be a part of the team deploying Ford's state-of-the-art AI algorithms to our customer vehicles and building the distributed ecosystem to continuously feed back data and improve our products. You will work cross functionally with data operations, algorithm development, and vehicle platform teams to create containerized services and workflows which support all phases of the ML life cycle. The person in this position will role model Agile and DevOps principles to develop technologies needed to design, test, validate, and deploy AI models in our vehicles at scale.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design the data pipelines and engineering infrastructure to support our ADAS products
  • Work with AI algorithm developers to deploy the models, data, training and validation pipelines in our production infrastructure
  • Create data and model validation strategies to ensure quality in the field
  • Be part of our culture of continuous improvement and proactive ownership. Identify efficiency gaps, and drive productivity improvements.
  • Execute best practices in version control and CI/CD
  • Collaborate with algorithmic teams developing early product concepts and operationalize their prototype ML environments and pipelines.
  • Formulate KPIs for our ML services and pipelines, and integrate telemetry to measure and track efficiency
  • Stay current on the latest tools and trends in the ML domain

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of experience with Python
  • 1+ year experience developing machine learning algorithms
  • 1+ year experience using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other machine learning frameworks
  • 1+ year experience using cloud-native containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

Preferred qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ year of experience with Python
  • 5+ year experience developing machine learning algorithms
  • 5+ year experience using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other machine learning frameworks
  • 3+ years of experience in vision processing techniques, and/or AI/ML.
  • 3+ years developing production micro-services and APIs
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile software development processes
  • Solid understanding of the machine learning lifecycle
  • Experience with deep learning model development, data sourcing and annotation, or embedded deployment
  • Proven ability to deliver complex solutions in an intensely collaborative product creation environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both vertically and horizontally within the organization
