ADAS Vehicle System Integration - ADAS Program Engineer

ADAS systems provide our customers with new and outstanding experiences and serve as a bridge to the future of autonomous driving. Our team develops and validates state-of-the-art vehicle-level driver assist technologies or features such as Active Drive Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, Active Park Assist, Intelligent Lighting, Pre-Collision Assist with AEB, Ford Co-Pilot 360 and other SAE Level 2/3 autonomous technologies. The ADAS team strives to make driving more exciting, enjoyable and balanced.

What you will be able to do:

This position is for a sophisticated Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Programs Integration Engineer with the focus on ensuring ADAS features delivers expectations of the customer.

  • You will lead program interface responsibilities, representing our North America ADAS department.
  • Collaborate with features Authorities, user experience teams, functional partners like Electrical, Chassis, and Powertrain, along with the Program Team to deliver to GPDS landmark requirements, post through launch.
  • Lead development and execution of design verification testing plan and sign-off.
  • Lead / support cascade of customer performance requirements for ADAS features
  • Lead / support the development of verification plans and verification methods, and document in eFDVS, e2KS, and FEDE
  • Work with our Hardware-In-Loop and Simulation (CAE) teams to deliver to Pre- and DCV requirements
  • Collaborate with global functional partners to meet system and vehicle level performance
  • Support feature calibration studies to satisfy vehicle-level performance requirements
  • Benchmark competitors and supervise public domain requirements
  • Be the Voice of our ADAS team in program communications and meetings, such as VPATs, PSTs, PRMs, and EMMs
The minimum requirements we seek:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Related Field.
  • 6+ months of experience (internship or coursework also permitted) with ADAS
  • 6+ months of experience (internship or coursework also permitted) with actuators or control systems or steering

Our preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with ADAS
  • 4+ years of experience with actuators or control systems
  • 3+ years of experience in project management and/or an integration role, leading and advising other team members
  • Experience in developing features in the Driver Assistance domain using radars, cameras, lidars, ultrasonic sensors and other related vehicle systems (body, electrical, chassis, powertrain)
  • Exposure to vehicle attributes development (Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Package, Performance/FE, etc.)
  • Experience applying Systems Engineering principles
  • Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, passion to improve customer happiness
  • Strong oral & written skills
  • Ability to work both independently and take initiative when vital
  • Strong teamwork & interpersonal skills
  • Experience with GPDS breakthrough deliverables
  • Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience using typical automotive interfaces: CAN, CANFD, Autosar, Auto-Ethernet, etc.
  • Experience using Vector CANape, CANalyzer and dSPACE Controls Desk or similar tools
  • Experience in verification techniques (design verification methods, vehicle data acquisition/analysis)
  • Experience with virtual validation methods (HIL/MIL/SIL)
